Biography

Dr. Kacey Kennedy joined the Huntingdon College faculty in fall of 2024. She is certified in K-12 vocal and instrumental music in the state of Missouri where she taught in a secondary public school setting from 2013-2021. She completed her PhD in Music Education at the University of Missouri in the summer of 2024. While completing her studies, Dr. Kennedy served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the School of Music and taught Music for Children, Folk Guitar, and assisted with the Concert Chorale and University Treble Chorus. Additionally, Dr. Kennedy was active in the local music community as clinician and adjudicator throughout Missouri. Her research interests include music literacy, music curriculum, and pedagogy. She has published a practitioner’s article and presented her research locally and nationally. Dr. Kennedy is excited to be working with the students at Huntingdon College in her role as Assistant Professor of Music Education and Director of Choral Activities.
